On revision operators

چکیده
We look at various notions of a class of definability operations that generalise inductive operations, and are characterised as “revision operations”. More particularly we: (i) characterise the revision theoretically definable subsets of a countable acceptable structure; (ii) show that the categorical truth set of Belnap and Gupta’s theory of truth over arithmetic using fully varied revision sequences yields a complete set of integers; (iii) the set of stably categorical sentences using their revision operator is similarly and which is complete in Gödel’s universe of constructible sets ; (iv) give an alternative account of a theory of truth realistic variance that simplifies full variance, whilst at the same time arriving at Kripkean fixed points. [...] no statement is immune to revision. W. V. O. Quine, From a Logical Point of View, p 43.

Dynamical revision operators with memory
We have proposed in previous work [11, 12] a construction that allows to define operators for iterated revision from classical AGM revision operators. We called those operators revision operators with memory and show that the operators obtained have nice logical properties. But those operators can be considered as too conservative, since the revision policy of the agent, encoded as a faithful a...
متن کاملModel-based Revision Operators for Terminologies in Description Logics
The problem of revising an ontology consistently is closely related to the problem of belief revision which has been widely discussed in the literature. Some syntax-based belief revision operators have been adapted to revise ontologies in Description Logics (DLs). However, these operators remove the whole axioms to resolve logical contradictions and thus are not fine-grained. In this paper, we ...
متن کاملBelief Fusion and Revision: An Overview Based on Epistemic Logic Semantics
In this paper, we formulate some approaches to belief fusion and revision using epistemic logic semantics. Fusion operators considered in this paper are majority merging, arbitration, and general merging. Some modalities corresponding to belief fusion and revision operators are incorporated into epistemic logics. The Kripke semantics of these extended logics are presented. While most existing a...
متن کاملKnowledge-Base Revision Using Implications as Hypotheses
The integration of an assertion stemming from some sender agent into the knowledge base of a receiver agent may be hindered by logical incompatibilities. In the belief-revision scenario the receiver agent trusts the incoming assertion and starts a revision of his knowledge base— resulting in the elimination of some formulas of the knowledge base. In this paper a new family of belief-revision op...
متن کاملCharacterization of logic program revision as an extension of propositional revision
We address the problem of belief revision of logic programs, i.e., how to incorporate to a logic program P a new logic program Q. Based on the structure of SE interpretations, Delgrande et al. (2008; 2013b) adapted the well-known AGM framework (1985) to logic program (LP) revision. They identified the rational behavior of LP revision and introduced some specific operators. In this paper, a cons...
متن کاملA Translation-Based Approach for Revision of Argumentation Frameworks
In this paper, we investigate the revision issue for Dung argumentation frameworks. The main idea is that such frameworks can be translated into propositional formulae, allowing the use of propositional revision operators to perform a rational minimal change. Our translationbased approach to revising argumentation frameworks can take advantage of any propositional revision operator ◦. Via a tra...
